news:
music:
- All Music Guide -- this great site keeps track of which songs singers have sung in...it's great for me since I'll hear a song and say "Isn't that so and so?" and I'll go look it up and sometimes I'm right :) also I like to know which artists are collaborating on projects
movies:
money/investments:
- Finance @ Yahoo -- where I go to
keep checking up on my stocks minute after minute
- Fool.com -- a start to learn how
to invest
- Janus mutual funds -- I've been silly
and haven't bought any mutual funds yet, but I think that I'll buy some of
these when I get my act together
search/general info:
personal observations/journals/updates:
(maybe in my other life I wanted to be a design major)
- Verona's webpage -- a
woman named Cecily Ordoyne's webpage. she updates it pretty often and I
always love her color schemes, photography, and sense of style
- Orange Minds -- I like to read
the journals of some of the people on this website. I wish that I could be
that open and put my life up on the web. I think that my friends would get
pissed off if I really put up a journal and referenced them.
shopping sites for music and movies:
- Alldirect -- hands down the cheapest site to buy new CDs
- SecondSpin -- relatively decent prices on used CDs and movies, selection for indie rock and electronica isn't all that great though. best for popular music.
- Netflix -- where I rent all my DVDs
shopping sites for fashion and housewares:
- Urban Outfitters -- good CD compilation, kitschy house/books, and stylish clothes
- Dollhouse -- love their knit sweaters
- J Crew
- Banana Republic -- sometimes they have nice basics, mostly buy work clothes there and great t-shirts
- Liz Claiborne -- it's
affordable mainstream style, slightly more conservative and caters to an older crowd
- Crate and Barrel -- this
stuff is on the pricy side, but for some reason I seem to like thinking about
buying kitchenware, despite the fact that I don't cook
